Privacy Policy
Stand: 14 June 2026
This page reproduces the privacy information required under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). The German version at /datenschutz/ is the binding original.
1. Controller
The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other national data protection laws of the member states as well as other data protection provisions is:
Leo MartelRingstr. 8
15898 Neißemünde
Germany
E-Mail: hallo@quackly.de
2. General Information on Data Processing
We collect and use personal data of our users only to the extent necessary to provide a functional website or where there is a corresponding legal basis. This website is a static site without login, profiling, or tracking.
3. Hosting
This website is hosted by:
netcup GmbHDaimlerstraße 25
76185 Karlsruhe
Germany
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in stable, secure operation of the website).
A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with the host, who processes personal data on our behalf and is bound by our instructions.
In addition, the host collects its own infrastructure log data (e.g., network, firewall, server management authentication) and stores it for a maximum of 14 days as per its retention documentation. Source: netcup help center — storage duration (German). This processing is part of the data processing agreement described above.
4. Server Log Files
Every time the website is accessed, the web server automatically collects general data about the requesting device in so-called server log files:
- IP address of the requesting device
- Date and time of access
- Name and URL of the file accessed
- Amount of data transferred and HTTP status code
- Browser used and its version (user agent)
- Operating system
- Referrer URL (previously visited site)
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in ensuring functionality, attack detection, and abuse prevention. No cross-referencing with other data sources takes place.
Server log files containing access data are generally deleted after no more than 7 days, unless a security-relevant incident requires longer retention in individual cases. Security and system logs may be retained for up to 30 days for attack detection and system stability.
5. Local Storage
The site uses the browser's local storage to save exactly one value:
- Key:
quackly:mode - Content: current escalation mode (Auto / Off / Max)
- Purpose: remember your UI preference between visits
- Lifetime: until manually cleared by you (browser settings)
The value is written only after you actively make a selection (click on a mode button in the escalation meter). Merely loading the page — including the 404 page — does not write any value; the existing value is only read to restore your last choice.
As this is storage strictly necessary for a telemedia service expressly requested by you within the meaning of § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG (the German Telecommunications-Digital-Services Data Protection Act, which since 14 May 2024 replaces the former TTDSG), no consent is required.
We use no cookies, no tracking, no analytics, no advertising networks.
6. External Content and Links
This website links to external sites (notably Steam game pages). When you click on such a link, you leave this site; the privacy provisions of the respective third party then apply.
We do not embed external fonts, videos, maps, or similar third-party content. The website loads content exclusively from its own server.
7. Contact
If you contact us by e-mail, the information you provide (e-mail address, name if given, content of the message) will be stored for the purpose of processing the request and for any follow-up questions.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual or contractual measures) or Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering your inquiry).
Retention period: data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose of collection.
8. Your Rights
You have the right at any time:
- to receive information about the data we store about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- to rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- to erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR)
